This is where we post suggestions that we have received at our shows along with a response. These are YOUR comments/suggestions and we can not always respond to these during a show, so we wanted to make sure everyone was heard. We really want for our shows to be fun for everyone and appreciate all your comments, good or bad. Again, these are your comments/suggestions… |

Big bag of treats for horse for series year end award |
Great idea! We’ll see what we can do. |

Bareback Class |
Safety is our priority. |

I would like to suggest a class for people older than the Children. The trainers do not want to compete against the students and the mothers do not want compete against the students. Maybe, 1) Trainers class 2) Mothers class 3) Open class age 30 and older |
We are always open for suggestions and we will look into this. |

Get a few pattern packets together to give to riders as they need them. |
We try to post the patterns in several areas for all to see. We are not handing them out to everyone just to have. If you ask for them at the registration window, they should be able to print you a copy. I haven’t seen any show that will hand out patterns, but they are available if you ask. |

People in Young Entry – some of them both horse &
rider |
We try to watch these and keep the classes fair. Watch for our Summer Series class sheet, we are changing/adding some divisions. Hopefully these changes will keep this from happening and keep the classes fair for all. |

I am using this as a schooling show – I would like for the classes to be split should they get too large. Love the ring/gate chicks – they were very nice & encouraging Thanks for a great time! |
On the classes being split, read the response below. On the ring/gate keepers – thank you. |

Some classes got too big. Think it would be better if the classes were smaller. |
We split classes when there are 14 or more in the
class. The top |

Have a children’s division. |
We are looking at this. Watch for it in the future. |

We try to post the patterns in several areas for all to see. But we will discuss this. |

Please can you contact the judging association and out and publish online what the judges are trained to look for in each type of riding:
For example: what is the judge looking for in the horse and rider in a hunter w/t/c class? |
Though each judge is subjective to their own views and interpretations. Click here to see what the USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) and the NCHJ (North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association) have to say. We have put together a summary taken from both, click here to view basic judging criteria. |

The walk/trot/canter Division should only be able to cross enter in Young Entry (like it was last year). Clearly you were looking for more entries but four hours into the show we were on Class 10. The children cannot wait this long. If you need to add a W/T/C for adults & experienced riders, it should be later in the program! |
The Walk/Trot and Walk/Trot/Canter Divisions have always been open to all ages. Riders under 18 in the Walk/Trot/Canter Division can cross enter into the Young Entry Division and riders over 18 can cross enter into the Low Hunter Division – this has not changed from last year. We are trying to accommodate a large age range in a short amount of time. We are looking at the age ranges and will be changing things in our Summer Series. As for the long wait, we apologize. You have to agree that the ring is never empty and we keep things moving as fast as possible. We have, however, added a second ring so that we can move things along faster and hopefully open up some time for more divisions. |

No schooling classes or only 1 class and schooling for each division. |
We are constantly looking for ways to speed things up. We looked at the entries in the schooling classes and most riders are only entering once. We have discussed different options like: time allotted before each Division, groups of three school then show, no schooling round. But the end result is that this is a schooling show and if you have been in the ring with twenty horses trying to school over jumps, it can be dangerous and they do not get a lot out of it. The schooling round gives the young (or experienced) riders a chance to familiarize themselves and their horse, alone, with all the jumps. |
